This sealing is characterized by its unusual flat shape and the complex knot at its back. It accompanied the travel document issued to Nakhthor on his journey to Egypt. This special document was folded twice, and carried its sealing so that it could be opened and shown to various officials on the road. Both letter and sealing are direct documents of travel on the famous Royal Roads. The Royal Roads were controlled by military and used by the king to transport goods, people and orders.
