This highly refined clay sealing preserves the original knot that closed the letter and the impression of Arshama’s seal. The image is framed by two horses. A victorious figure, armed with a bow in its case and a spear, attacks an enemy, characterized by costume and headgear. Three more identical enemies lie dead. Above, a crescent and the winged disk symbolises the fortune of the Persian people.
